FARGO — A group has surpassed its goals of raising $100,000 to help pay for updates at a south Fargo library. The Friends of the Fargo Public Library plans to continue fundraising for renovations at Dr. James Carlson Library, said Marisa Nygord, the organization s volunteer board president. As of Wednesday, Oct. 21, the nonprofit that supports Fargo s library system collected $101,000 for the Carlson Library project, she said. It definitely feels like something that needs to be celebrated, Nygord said. One of the donations included $50,000 from Scheels, Nygord said. The Friends also committed $25,000 to the project, she said. The campaign to raise money for Carlson started in mid-July and runs through the end of October, she said. The Friends will continue to collect donations, and people who wish to donate after the campaign ends still can, she said.
